Tooting My Own Horn
I’ve been in the record biz since the early 1980s. A Canadian label just released an overview of my work from 30 years ago. I’m very proud of this. It’s a nice snapshot of my friend’s music back in the day. A worthy representation of the rise of Indie Rock in Minneapolis at the time, although tracks from all over the world are included too for extra flavor. Overlooked Masterpiece: Zip Caplan’s ‘Monsters and Heroes’ CD
Zip has been playing guitar in Minnesota for 55 years with The Litter, The Accents, The Escapades, Froggie and His Friends, White Lightning, Lightning, and The Surf Dawgs. This CD was released in 2001 featuring a cast of friends covering horror movie themes, and is unlike anything else you’ve ever heard. This CD is a blast that can’t be passed by.
